Unistellar is introducing something pretty cool for all the explorers out there—their new ENVISION smart binoculars. They come loaded with high-quality optics and augmented reality (AR) features and will soon be available on Kickstarter.

Unistellar, known for their innovative smart telescopes, is set to launch their latest product, the ENVISION smart binoculars. And guess what? They’re not just any binoculars. These come with AR features that overlay useful information onto what you’re looking at.

Laurent Marfisi, co-founder and CEO of Unistellar, said, ‘Continuing our endeavor to expand people’s exploration capabilities, we will now offer a convenient, versatile, and portable tool that will delight explorers, day and night.’

The ENVISION binoculars have some awesome features. They can connect to your smartphone via a companion app, which gives you instant access to a bunch of maps and other useful info. Whether you’re stargazing or just exploring the great outdoors during the day, these binoculars will make sure you have all the details you need.

Unistellar first grabbed everyone’s attention back in 2017 with their eVscope Kickstarter campaign. They raised over $2.2 million, and even Nikon got interested and invested in them in 2023. Now, with the ENVISION binoculars, they are aiming to make another big splash.

Here’s the real kicker: these binoculars are designed to be useful both day and night. You can explore the night sky and look at stars like a pro, or enjoy daytime views with extra information overlaid right onto what you’re seeing.

The ENVISION binoculars offer four modes of use: Smart Scouting Mode creates a 3D map overlay indicating landmarks, water sources, trails, and other points of interest; Guided Navigation Mode gives you a tour of the night skies or points you towards interesting places during the day; Shareable Target-lock Mode lets you lock onto a target and share the view with others; and Classic Optical Mode allows you to use the binoculars without any AR overlay.

The binoculars will first be available through an early bird offer on Kickstarter, with limited quantities of 1,000 units priced at $599, reduced from the regular price of $999.

These new smart binoculars are looking like they could be a big deal in the world of exploration. As Unistellar puts it, this technology is ‘the first significant advancement in the field in decades.’

So, if you’re someone who loves exploring and wants to see the world (and beyond) in a whole new way, keep an eye out for Unistellar’s ENVISION smart binoculars. They might just become your new favorite gadget.
