Panasonic has just dropped the LUMIX S9 mirrorless camera along with the sleek new LUMIX S 26mm F8 Pancake lens, perfect for those who love creative composition and manual shooting.

The LUMIX S9 stands out as the smallest and lightest full-frame mirrorless camera in the LUMIX S Series. It’s available in stylish colors like Jet Black, Crimson Red, Dark Olive, and Classical Blue. Packed with a 24.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, this camera delivers rich, detailed photos with natural tones. It also features Phase Detection Auto-Focus for excellent subject tracking and Active I.S. to reduce blurring from camera shake, even when shooting handheld.

Content creators can enjoy an array of in-camera color styles using the REAL TIME LUT function, accessible via a new ‘LUT’ button. The LUMIX Lab app complements this by allowing users to create and apply unique LUTs directly from their smartphones, making it easier to produce shareable stills and videos without needing a computer for post-production.

For video enthusiasts, the LUMIX S9 introduces a new recording format called MP4 Lite, which captures high-quality videos in 4:2:0 10-bit at 30p/25p. The LUMIX Lab app also enables quick resizing of aspect ratios for social media sharing, streamlining the editing process for on-the-go creators.

Set to be available at the end of June 2024, the LUMIX S9 body will retail at £1499.99/€1699.99.

Accompanying the camera is the new LUMIX S 26mm F8 Pancake lens, a compact and lightweight full-frame lens that’s perfect for everyday use. This manual focus lens with a fixed focal length of 26mm and an F8 aperture is designed for capturing fleeting moments with a unique touch. Its slim profile makes it incredibly portable, fitting easily into your pocket.

This 26mm lens will also be available at the end of June 2024, with a price tag of £219.99/€239.99.

Another addition to the LUMIX S Series is the upcoming LUMIX S 18-40mm F4.5-6.3 lens. This versatile zoom lens covers focal lengths from 18mm to 40mm, making it perfect for everything from expansive landscapes to natural-looking portraits. The closest shooting distance of 0.15m/0.49ft adds to its flexibility.

Panasonic aims to make content creation seamless and intuitive with the introduction of the LUMIX S9 and the 26mm F8 Pancake lens, bringing new levels of portability and creative control to both casual and professional photographers.
