MPB, the leader in online camera trading, is proudly sponsoring the 2024 Association of Photographers (AOP) Awards. This 39th edition, now in the judging phase, will reveal the winners at the AOP’s annual event in September.

The Association of Photographers (AOP) announced MPB as the headline sponsor for the 39th annual AOP Awards. The awards recognize outstanding professional photography and feature judging by 30 category experts. The winners will be unveiled in September at the AOP’s yearly showcase.

Isabelle Doran, CEO of AOP, expressed her excitement: ‘As a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to protecting photographers’ and image-makers’ interests, we’re really thrilled to have MPB supporting our 39th AOP Photography Awards as our headline sponsor this year. Its commitment to sustainable business practice and human-creative endeavour comes at a critical time under the contrariety of GenAI. Together with a stellar group of judges who all advocate the skill and talent that professional photographers bring, we can’t wait to showcase the very best visual work our photographers have produced over the past year.’

Katie Thompson, Head of Marketing UK&I at MPB, echoed this sentiment, stating, ‘We are delighted to support the latest celebration of the AOP’s photographers’ stunning work from the past 12 months. The AOP’s dedication to the protection and guidance of visual storytellers is a cause also shared by MPB, as we look to make photography accessible for all.’

The judging panel is an impressive mix of photographers, commissioners, and industry representatives. Fashion & Beauty judge Safia Minney MBE FRSA is a globally recognized social entrepreneur and advisor with over 20 years of experience. She is an award-winning thought leader in sustainable fashion and has received an MBE for her services to Fair Trade and the fashion industries.

Olivia Arthur, the Documentary Award judge, is a full member of Magnum Photos with work featured in The New Yorker, Vogue, and TIME magazine. She co-founded Fishbar, a publisher and space for photography in London.

Miles Aldridge, judging the Project Award, is known for blending historic and modern motifs in his photography. His work is featured in renowned institutions like the V&A and British Museum in London and the International Centre of Photography in New York.

The full list of judges includes top names from various photography disciplines ensuring high standards in the selection process. Judges will identify finalists and the Gold and Silver winners in each category. Additionally, awards for Best Commissioned and Best Personal work will be judged from all finalists.

Category sponsors for the awards are MOT Models, Fair Licensing by Pixray, Peerspace, Williamson Carson, Genesis Imaging, and Capture One.

MPB’s sponsorship highlights their commitment to the photography community and supports AOP in celebrating exceptional talent. The detailed and diverse judging panel ensures that the very best in professional photography will be recognized this September.
