Leica Camera AG has just announced that the new Leica D-Lux 8 will be available worldwide starting July 2, 2024.

This German premium camera manufacturer has a reputation for delivering top-quality digital compact cameras, and the D-Lux series, first introduced in 2003, has become a staple in their lineup. With the D-Lux 8, Leica aims to offer the iconic Leica experience in a more compact and accessible design.

The new model features a 4/3” CMOS sensor with a 21 MP resolution, though the effective resolution is 17 MP. It is equipped with the fast Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9–34 f/1.7–2.8 ASPH. lens, which is equivalent to a 24-75mm lens in 35mm format. Users will appreciate the simplified and ergonomically repositioned controls, along with a user interface inspired by the popular Leica Q-Cameras. The camera also supports seamless connectivity with the Leica FOTOS app and includes the versatile DNG format for the first time in the D-Lux series.

The versatile new camera comes with a flash and a range of additional accessories such as a hand grip, carrying straps, wrist straps, and leather protectors in various colors. Other optional accessories, including an automatic lens cap, soft release buttons, and a variety of bags, provide photographers with numerous customization options.

The Leica D-Lux 8 will be priced at £1,450.00 including VAT and will be available through Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store, and authorized dealers. The device promises to be a hit among modern photographers looking for a compact yet powerful tool for their craft.

Mark your calendars for July 2, 2024, if you want to get your hands on this cutting-edge compact camera from Leica.
